The New Orleans Pelicans have taken an exciting step by elevating Bryson Graham to General Manager and bringing on Jon Moul as Senior Director of Cap and Strategy. This powerful pair is ready to lead the team to greater success, expanding on the work done by David Griffin, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Demonstrated History of Success

Graham has displayed outstanding character, work ethic, and basketball knowledge during his 14 years with the Pelicans. His commitment to his profession has established him as a respected talent scout in the NBA, known for his ability to recognize top talent across all levels. In his role as Assistant General Manager for the last five seasons, Graham has been instrumental in molding the team’s roster, making decisions on the draft, free agency, and trades.

An Ascendancy in the Hierarchy

Starting as a basketball operations intern in 2010-11, Graham quickly established a reputation as a promising talent within the organization. He advanced through different positions, including Player Development Director (2011-12), Video Coordinator/Player Development Coach (2012-14), Scouting Coordinator (2014-17), and Director of College Scouting (2017-19). This encounter has provided him with a comprehensive knowledge of the game, enabling him to make wise choices that positively impact the team.

From Aggies making it to the big leagues

Before joining the Pelicans, Graham spent three years playing college basketball at Texas A&M, being part of teams that reached the Sweet Sixteen in 2006-07 and the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2007-08 and 2008-09. In 2009, he completed his studies in Human Resource Development with a minor in Business and received his degree. Graham’s uncommon combination of playing experience and academic background has given him a distinctive outlook in his role.

An additional member joins the front office team.

Jon Moul has seven years of experience in basketball operations positions with the Charlotte Hornets, most recently working as the Director of Basketball Strategy & Legal Affairs. Moul, originally from Houston, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas and later obtained his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. His knowledge will be extremely helpful in managing complicated salary cap issues and discussing contracts.

A Promising Future Awaits

With Graham in charge as the General Manager and Moul taking the lead as Senior Director of Cap and Strategy, the Pelicans are ready for success. Their collective knowledge will empower them to make thoughtful choices that propel the team’s progress and advancement. David Griffin, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, stated that Bryson has established an excellent reputation in the NBA. I am thrilled to see him take on the position of General Manager for the New Orleans Pelicans.

The future looks promising for this dynamic pair, as they collaborate to take the Pelicans to greater heights. With their shared experience, love for basketball, and commitment to greatness, fans can anticipate great achievements from this recently established group of leaders.
